Typography as a personal narractive

This short film might be defined as a grief poem film; or a form of elegy. It was shot on an Apple iPhone, mounted on a handheld stabilising gimbal. The footage was recorded while walking parallel to the shop fronts utilising the slow frame rate of 120fps. In postproduction colour grading was applied to the sequence to partly desaturate the imagery and
emphasise the cold hues in the footage. Designed text was applied as a typographical dialogue to the piece as a way of enhancing the narrative. The letters in the wording has been overlapped as a way of expressing the spoken words. This approach emphasised a sense of unsettled abandonment. A tilt shift effect on the footage to give the edges of the film a sight blurriness that drew the eye to the centre of the frame.
